Empower Math Leaders to Make Aligned Decisions—Without You in the Room
Free training and tool to build sustainable, system-wide growth this school year.
With the Math Coherence Compass, You’ll Be Able To…
Turn Big Ideas Into Consistent Action
When everyone uses the same decision-making framework, priorities like fluency, discourse, and problem solving stop being interpreted differently across schools—and start showing up consistently in classrooms.
Reduce Initiative Fatigue
Stop layering “one more thing” onto teachers. The Coherence Compass helps leaders evaluate what to say no to so your system can focus deeply on what matters most.
Protect Your Long-Term Math Improvement Goals
Every decision—PD, PLC focus, coaching move, resource request—is filtered through your vision, objectives, values, and support systems. That’s how momentum builds instead of resetting each year.
Here’s what some of our partners had to say…
Make Math Moments gave us the clarity, structure, and coaching we needed to move from overwhelmed to confident. We finally have a system that keeps our math work focused, measurable, and moving forward.
Make Math Moments met our schools where they were and helped us shift from prescribing solutions to empowering school-led math improvement. The resources, coaching, and guidance have made a real difference in classrooms.
We now have clear indicators, measurable milestones, and systems to track impact. Our math improvement work is no longer vague—it’s focused and actionable.
Hey, I’m Jon Orr, co-founder of Make Math Moments. I’ve spent the last decade working alongside K–12 math teachers, coaches, and district leaders across North America, helping districts move from scattered initiatives to coherent, sustainable math improvement.
After supporting districts of all sizes, I kept seeing the same challenge: math leaders were being pulled into constant decision-making because there wasn’t a shared way to determine what matters most. Good intentions were everywhere—but clarity wasn’t.
So I created the Math Coherence Compass to use with our district partners. Once leadership teams had a clear way to filter decisions, align priorities, and stay focused on improving math instruction, everything changed. Teams became more confident, decisions became more consistent, and leaders were freed up from daily “shoulder taps.”

How We’ve Helped Districts Just Like Yours
“The difference is night and day”
“With the guidance from the Make Math Moments District Improvement Program this is the first year we’ve had a clear, connected, impactful professional development plan where our teachers see a pathway to an improved math classroom.”
West Carrollton School District, Ohio
“Working with Jon and Kyle has given us a different perspective by challenging our thinking. They encourage us to take action steps based on our conversations and then follow up with us on those actions. Being math leaders is a lonely job and they validate the work that we are doing as well as coach us into better leaders.”
Katy Independent School District, Texas
“The coaching conversations with Jon and Kyle have really helped push us to keep momentum on our focus and how we can make the changes we need to in math instruction in our District. The questioning from Jon and Kyle are all instrumental in really giving us the tools and ideas we need to drive the work.”
Galloway Township Public Schools, New Jersey
Kyle and Jon have established themselves as a go-to pair for thoughtful and interesting math lessons.
Their attention to the critical nature of building curiosity and the importance of thoughtful planning resonate with me. It is great that they have provided so many examples and a structure in which to create lessons.
I strongly encourage all educators who teach mathematics at some point in their timetable to consider participating in this engaging professional development experience to move your practice to the next level.
Kyle and Jon are on a mission to change how students experience math by ditching those forgettable “I do, we do, you do” lessons and crafting moments that students will remember.
Curious students WANT to learn and are EAGER to tackle that next challenging problem. Let Kyle and Jon show you how to spark curiosity on a daily basis.
Their three step framework can help any teacher make small changes that result in big wins!
