Idaho State Requirements
The Idaho State Department of Education requires that teachers receive six semester credits to renew a certificate. They go on to state that “credits taken for recertification must be educationally related to the individualized professional learning plan (IPLP) or related to the professional practice of the applicant:
- Credits must be specifically tied to content areas and/or an area of any other endorsement; or
- Credits must be specific to pedagogical best practices or for administrative/teacher leadership; or
- Credits must be tied to a specific area of need designated by district administration
- Credits must be taken during the validity period of the certificate. The validity period is listed in parenthesis next to the certificate(s) listed on the credential
Make Math Moments Courses has partnered with Brandman University (which is accredited through WASC) to provide Graduate Level Professional Development Credits for all courses.
To earn the credits, you must select the course you are taking and complete the Brandman University registration process. You can choose 1 credit for mini courses and between 2 to 4 credits for regular courses. Please check with your school or district to determine whether these credits are accepted. Note that these credits require additional fees ($80 per credit) and follow-up assignments.
